Bought and tried a mobile Wi-Fi in Thailand
This is a report from Sales Promotion Department:
We paid a visit to Thailand in order to participate in the business meetings of MFair in Bangkok 2018.
So, I bought a SIM card for Wi-Fi at the arrival lobby of Suvarnabhumi Airport as I always do.
Popular carriers in Thailand are AID, dtac, and True.
I picked True for no specific reason.
Then, as I approached to the arrival lobby, a signboard which said ” No.1 Mobile operator for travelers” jumped into my eyes. Maybe the word, ‘No.1’, draw people’s attention. The actual place on the map is below↓

The one we bought was in a little bit different package, and its max speed was supposed to be 4.5G.
We paid 299 Thai Bahts (about 1,100 JPY).
Now, here’s what happened; We tried to insert it to NEC’s mobile Wi-Fi we brought from Japan.
It didn’t get through…!!! Not at all…and we still don’t know why it didn’t work.
However, we need Wi-Fi no matter what, so we hurriedly purchased a new Wi-Fi device, and moved to Pronpon.
We went to a mobile shop called, BANANA, and we were served quite well there at the shop.
After dealing with the shop clerk there, we finally decided to buy this Wi-Fi:
It cost 2,890 TBH, but that’s alright because we’ll use it all the time.
It works very well. No problem at all.
It relieved our headache as it allows full-time internet environment no matter where you go.
It is extremely important to be connected internet all the time, as that is how we, heavy business travellers, get by in all of our business trips.
